charlie - USA

Answer

Aristotle was better known in other areas than mathematics. In fact, many of his works have been lost. One part of mathematics that he did much in was in logic, which can apply to the sciences too.

An article on Aristotle and mathematics is at:

I hope that helps.

How did Aristotle die?

Question

January 30, 2006

How did Aristotle actually die Of old age? no because he was only about 62 but anyways how could someone with so much insight not be a owner of a bigger school everyone pretty much new how smart he was and that he should be a leader. Also what happened with Aristotles son Also i think that Aristotle made such a difference in our world today because he gave us the knowledge and wants us to feel the same way about life and Philosophy!

Brittany - Canada

Answer

In those days most people didn't live to 62. Also, since he died shortly after he was forced out of Athens, he may have died other than naturally. There isn't much information on how he actually died.

Even if he was so smart, people with opposing political views felt he was dangerous, especially since he was close to the king. Note that a smart person is not necessarily one who becomes a leader. Political connections are more important. In the time of kings, it depends on who your parents were.

Apparently, Aristotle's son didn't have the talent he had, since little is known about him or what he did.
