Answer
The chemical formula of an acid usually starts with H. Acids taste sour, are corrosive to metals, change litmus paper red, and often create a salt when mixed with a base.
The chemical formula of a base usually end with OH. Bases feel slippery, change litmus paper blue, and often create a salt when mixed with an acid.
