Answer
Senses are how you perceive the world around you. We consider the 6th sense as being able to see into the future. It is also called precognition.
Some claim to be able to sense what another is thinking. This could be by sensing electrical signals in the brain. But often it is reading signals from the body, such as odors, posture and such. Even if you can't actually sense signals from the brain, being able to pick up subtle clues in order to tell what a person is thinking is a valuable skill that can be learned through careful observation.
Being able to move things with your mind is not a sense. It something like that is possible, it would be classified as a power of some sort.

What is called the 6th sense or precognition is what seems to be the ability to see into the future. Most people seem to have this sense to a small degree. It can be good as a warning, but it also can be disturbing to many people.
My 6th sense suddenly stopped
Question
June 14, 2009
For the past 36 years I was very able to have my 6th sense, then everything stopped about January 2009. Even though I am physical I am not on any physical journey, I am very much on a very serious spiritual journey. I do need help to figure it all out and learn how to be able to have my 6th sense and everything else again. I truly loved the way I was that way for the last 36 years and I am very sad that I am not doing things anymore. I really do want to get there again like I was and more. Thank You, Sincerely,
Marie - USA

Answer
You might look change happened in your life around January 2009. Even an illness can throw you off. If you are concerned about your 6th sense and start trying too hard to use it, you may have more trouble with nothing working for you. It is a very subtle sense that just seems to flow, similar to what you feel on your spiritual journey.
Relax, don't try and let your 6th sense just happen when it is ready.
Had a dream that came exactly true
Question
May 5, 2009
I had a dream once where I saw a very specific kind of car with a specific color at our local gas station, I had never seen it in reality before this dream occurred, the next day I saw that same EXACT car at the same place I saw it in my dream.
when I was young my grandparents died three days apart from one another due to natural causes, when I would go to their house there was a distinct smell I remember which was my grandmothers perfume, there has been a few occasions in my life since they have passed when I will be somewhere and I will smell the scent of her perfume for a few minutes, they don't even make that scent anymore
one other situation where I seem to have had a sixth sense is with my ex girlfriend, she became pregnant not long after we met, she and I got along great in the beginning she would stick by my side through anything, then one day she started to act strange and it became worse and worse as time passed, I had a feeling that she had been lying and cheating, this may seem obvious by what I have said but I sensed the things she was doing without seeing it for myself in almost exact details, I also had a feeling that her son was mine even though she stopped talking to me for most of the pregnancy, I felt like there was someone telling me in my mind "he is your son" since he has been born I have been around him and he looks very much like me
I would just like to know if its possible that I have the sixth sense, and if there are any other tips that will help me sharpen it even more if I do have it, things like beliefs in the possibility of ghosts and spirits, right now I consider it to be coincidence rather than a sixth sense because I have a hard time believing in things like ghosts or spirits without actually seeing them, I have heard them but I just think of it as my mind playing tricks on me, am I wrong? should I really believe I have this sixth sense, I know your information says it works best if you don't try to control it but if I do try to believe in it more and THEN let it work on its own will it become sharper and easier to understand?
thanks for your time.

Answer
Having a dream that comes true is a case of foreseeing a future event. When it happens, it is often called Deja Vu. Having something like that happen can give you a strange feeling. It is a case of your 6th sense and has happened to many people.
Smells can bring back memories and memories can cause a person to imagine a smell that isn't there. Since smells are chemical reactions, it is possible to confuse one smell from another, if the molecular structure is similar.
In the situation with your ex-girlfriend, you may have read her body language and other subtle clues that she was cheating on you. Also, the looks and even the smell of the child may give you indication he is yours. Since the 6th sense is perceiving the future, you would have had an indication or feeling before the fact.
Everyone has the 6th sense is being able to foresee future events on occasion. I am sure you can think of other times when you had a hunch, feeling or intuition that something would happen and then it did. Typically, a person can not force this sense. It just seems to flow.
Sensing spirits or ghosts is another matter. Although some people claim to sense spirits, there really aren't enough cases to make it valid.
Time seemed to freeze for other people
Question

Answer
What we call the 6th sense, is being able to foresee the future. It is one way that we sense time. But what happened to you is that you were sensing time in slow motion. See the lesson on that subject at:

People around me don't believe my sixth sense
Question
April 20, 2009
I think I have a sixth sense. Many a times I have a deja vu. My IQ according to MENSA is 144. But the people around me don't believe that I have a strong sixth sense which sometimes comes under my control. What should I do?
Sanchari - India

Answer
Although everyone has the sixth sense or ability to foresee the future to a small degree, most people don't notice it or acknowledge it. In fact, many think that it goes to claim to foresee the future are either making things up or imagining it. Thus, you need to be careful who you tell about your enhanced sense.
You can still enjoy your abilities without sharing the fact with others who may not believe you.
Do I have the 6th sense?
Question
March 8, 2009
Hey! I'm a 19 year old girl from Norway. I've always felt that "there's something different" with me. Sometimes I get visions of what's going to happen in the future, and I've experienced that those visions come true. An example: One week ago, me and my family went skiing. Before we left, I had this vision of a girl at school and her family in the skiing-track. We met them there, and I was really surprised! This is not a coincidence, I barely know them or see them anywhere.
Sometimes when I listen to songs, the words they say in the song are identical with what I read e.g. magazines, books, internet etc. E.g.: "I made some mistakes in my life", and I might read "mistakes" at the same time as they sing it in the song.
I have also experienced seeing Jesus, at the time I was twelve-thirteen years old. He was so close, and I could see that he smiled even though I couldn't see his face. His presence almost knocked me off my feet!
I have experienced more personal things that I don't want to share with others.
Does it sound like I have the 6th sense to you?
Thanks,
Kathrine - Norway

Answer
Any time you get a feeling or vision that something in the future will happen and it does happen, it is your 6th sense working. For some reason, certain people seem to have this sense that is stronger than in other people. It is like having better hearing than someone else. Apparently, your 6th sense is better or stronger than the average person.

Answer
You are experiencing the 6th sense where you can sense future events. This sense is somewhat fuzzy, but often things come true. Everyone has the sense, but some have it better than others.
But of course, not all dreams foresee the future. Some are a going over something that happened recently or even in the distant past. So you can't rely on dreams always being accurate. Also, some dreams mix in with each other.
The best way for sensing future events is when you are awake and get the feeling that something will happen.
How can I see the future?
Question
March 1, 2009
how can i see that what will happen in future?
siavash - Pakistan

Answer
People have little control over being able to see into the future. You just get a special feeling that something will happen, or you may see it in a dream.
Think of the times you have had a feeling that something would happen in the future and it came true. Recall the feeling you had that was somewhat different. You must get that same feeling again be able to see the future.

Answer
Being able to see or feel future events often concerns bad things. If it is overwhelming you, a method to make it stop is to actually try to see those future things. Surprisingly, they often go away.
But also, in your normal activities, try to think of the good. Good thoughts overcome bad ones.
