Who is a champion?

Question

December 24, 2006

Who is a champion other than one who has the victory in Jesus? The perfect work of the Lord Almighty, Jesus has already given us the victory over all of the imperfections in this world. The real champions, who will succeed; not fail to earn perfection; the highest standard, are those made perfect through the perfect forgiveness of Jesus. If perfection is not the highest standard, where are one's standards?

I know when something bad is going to happen

Question

July 8, 2006

I seem to know when something bad is going to happen to my family and loved one. I sometimes get a real bad headache in the back of my head and a sick feeing in my stomach. It's like waiting for the phone to ring with bad news. Or sometimes having a feeling of sadness or crying for no reason. Right now I have had this feeling off and on for about six weeks. I pray and ask God to keep everyone safe and well. I hate being able to sense this. Waiting for that phone call. And yes, it is usually a matter of time before I get that phone call. Any suggestions on how to get a handle on this feelings?

Answer

This isn't sensing fear as much as sensing a future event--what we call the 6th sense. For some reason, people seem to sense when bad things will happen instead of good things.

Since this sense works the best when you don't try to use it, some people have blocked out the sense by actually trying to use it. In other words, if you start to feel something bad will happen, try to look into the future to see what will happen. Hopefully, the feeling will go away by trying to use it.

Now I don't know if trying to foresee an event will prevent it from happening. That is uncertain. Praying to God that it won't happen may have the same effect as trying to see what happens. Praying certainly is good, in any case.

I hope that your family will remain safe and in good health.

Answer

Seeing something in future is using your 6th sense. For some reason people often see more bad things that good things that will happen.

See our articles on the 6th sense and read some of the letters for more explanations.

How can fear in plants be detected?

Question

January 23, 2004

Q) what is the instrument that is used to detect fear in animals and plants.

i have read in a book that plants are the most fearful beings on earth," the fear detecting machine was placed on man and somebody came to shoot him without him, knowing the machine detected the fear, then they put the machine in animals the impulse showed in the machine was more than that of men, then they placed it in plants {attached the instrument, maybe some wires of the machine, i didnt mention it earlier} then they went to cut the plant near the one attached to the machine, with the wood cutting machine, the fear showed in the plants were much greater than that of animals and humans)

have you people done any research on plants like this please send me an e- mail on my doubt, if plants and animals can detect fear it means that sone soul mut be existing in it like that of humans then relegion will have to answer to science as to the existance of soul in animals and plants{especially} too. please reply.

Answer

They used a device that detected electrical signals from the plants. The increase in the signals did not detect fear, but it meant they were reacting to some fearful situation.

The electroencephlogram measures electrical signals from the brain. That can be used to measure the response to fear in humans and animals.

How dogs sense fear

Question

February 20, 2003

I heard that dogs can hear the heartbeat of someone when they are in fear. Iis this true? If not, how is it that dogs can sense fear?

Hugo -

Answer

Although a person's heartbeat is somewhat louder when in fear, it is also louder when exercising. I have never seen anything about dogs being able to hear the heartbeat. That is not to say they can't, but I would think other noises would drown out that sound.

When people are in a state of fear, they give off odors in their sweat. Dogs have extremely sensitive smelling ability and can probably pick up that odor.

Also, dogs can see the body language of a person in fear. Fooling a dog by moving like you are afraid can cause some dogs to attack you.

Scared by spider

Question

November 2, 2001

I had an experience with sensing fear about 8 years ago. I can remember this like it happened yesterday. I was in my basement of my parents house watching TV, sitting on an old green chair. Our basement was unfinished at the time so you could see the ceiling rafters from the floor above. I was watching TV and just happened to look to my left at the ceiling and saw something fly through the air toward me from the direction I was looking.

I heard something hit the right arm of the chair with a very light thud, I was afraid to look at it for a few seconds, I new I would have to look at it because I would have to get up and get away from what ever it was. It only took a fraction of a second to travel 7 plus feet. Eventually I turned my head slowly and looked around and saw a little spider about 1/4 of an inch long. That little spider scared the hell out of me, I just sat there frozen for a few seconds as I waited for the spider to make it's next move. It didn't. So I got out of the chair slowly and killed the spider. I didn't sit in the chair for the rest of the year. I now have 3 tarantulas as pets and have gotten over my fear of spiders from that day 8 years ago.

We had a 7 foot ceiling and the spider had to have jumped at least that far to reach me. It wasn't it's size that scared me it was it's ability to jump that far and the ability to hit an arm 4 inches wide, I couldn't believe the accuracy of the spider, it landed dead center and on top of it it landed facing me!!!!!!!!!. The other reason I was so scared was I was able to sense it was about to jump even before it jumped. I only told my dad, and he said not to worry about it, but I have remembered it and am very happy to tell someone else that can understand.

Disagree on fear

Question

August 11, 2003

I disagree that chickens sense fear. It has been proven that chickens feel vibrations of the ground and in the atmoshere. The earth quake would have shaken the ground therefore giving the chickens a warning that there was danger around.

Krissy -

Answer

Actually, what is said is that the chickens were sensing the danger of the earthquake. The Chinese found that the chickens were acting nervous several days before the earthquake actually happened. They now use barnyard animals to help predict earthquakes.
