Our school is tops

May 31, 2005

Can you please enter Sedway Middle School in this list, because it is really a good school it's one of the best schools in Las Vegas if you ask me. We have a really good studentbody and the teachers take their time to explain the directions. Sedway doesn't get as much credit as they deserve. I've only gone to this School for this year and it's my last year in middle school and I'd appreicate it if you would put a special shout out to my 8th grade teachers Mr.Hunter, Mrs.Bollinger, Mr.Zalmonov, Mr.Becker, and Mr.Graydon. This would realy mean alot to me Please write me back with your answer.

Wants to volunteer

August 17, 2004

Goal: I achieved my educational goal in 2001. After attending graduate school part-time for 10 years and working full time I obtained my MS degree in Education in 2001. I now have a degree in Instructional Technology. But this is just the beginning of the challenge to becoming a champion. During the same time period, I was diagnosed with an immune system condition called Multiple Sclerosis. Today, I am working full time, planning a third career in online learning and instructional technology.

My next career will be in the Arts in HealthCare, Healing Program. Practicing the visual arts as a healing technique will be a joint project with my husband and best friend. My husband is an amateur digital photographer with a great deal of champion spirit. We are planning a joint effort to be part of Arts in Healing Programs in Virginia, Maryland and eventually down in Florida.

I would like to support the School for Champions achieve its mission by volunteering or sponsoring some e-learning lessons. Please let me know how I can help or volunteer.

Regards

Admission to top college in India

August 1, 2004

Hi,
I am very happy to inform you that I have got admission in one of the best colleges in India. It comes next only to IIT and is ranked 11th in India.

Though I got only 80% in 12th grade inspite of studying nearly 15 hours per day for a year, I continued to study after my exam, and I was able to get 205th rank out of 10000 students, which enabled me to get admission in computer engineering course.

I am very thankful to you for helping me during tough times and showing me the right path for success.

You guys are really great

June 30, 2004

Dear School for Champions,

You guys are really great. I am proud to say that i am learning so many things from you that weren't that important to me before. Just for the sake of your curiosity, I found out about your site when, I got my last report card for 10th grade. My grades werent bad but on a couple of the subjects, i seemed to have scored very low. I got so mad, that I went to Yahoo! Search TM, and I typed in these exact words "HOW TO GET BETTER GRADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". The first link that came up was your site. I decided to check it out and, vioala! It was the first few sentences that caught my attention. I started reading and i found out it made so much sense to me now. Thank you School For Champions!!!

Used material to win Future City competition

June 25, 2004

Washington DC's R.H. Terrell Junior High School won first place in the 2004 Regional Future City Competition. Team members Shawanne Bender, Zataunia Heard, and Danielle Nelson qualified for the 2004 National Finals in Washington during National Engineers Week

Assisted by SECME teacher Lucius Stephenson, engineering mentor Tolulope A. Odunlami, and teacher Virginia Kirkpatrick, the Terrell team wrote essays and designed and built a colorful three-dimensional scale model of their futuristic city. SECME is a nonprofit organization that helps minority students advance in science and engineering.

The students named their city "Plassien" (the Greek word for plastics) for its material of construction. Located off the coast of Florida and set in the year 3028, Plassien was designed to make quality of life better for a population of 166,000 senior citizens.

Stephenson saluted R.H. Terrell Principal Dr. Francis Nicol and Asst Principal Jo Anne Bonney for their support throughout the competition and leadership in implementing an enriched academic program that is benefiting all of the school's students. He also referred to the School for Champions as a resource used in their science studies.

Besides an all-expense six-day stay at the National Finals in Washington and national recognition from President Bush, the Terrell team was featured in two Washington Times articles and a Voice of America radio interview broadcast world-wide.

Science teachers and students interested in this competition can get more information at www.futurecity.org.

Helped me regain my confidence

January 29, 2004

When my son was born 9 months ago i experienced a "confidence crisis". Everything worried me, panic attacks, extreme confusion as to "what to do next", unable to prioritise, etc etc. At one point i had difficulty with choices regarding simple tasks e.g. should i brush my teeth or get dressed first--i was that bad! i now realise that my self-esteem was at an all time low and i had been beating myself up for many years for being no good at anything. i am now looking for a part time job hoping that by acheiving this, and people are thanking me for working, that my confidence will then regrow. i also shout "shut up" at myself, if i start thinking negatively! It is good to see that it is not just me who has turned into a quivering wreck after i used to be a confident happy person! Your website has been a great help. Thank you.

Was a success speaking at wedding

September 2, 2001

During speaking in front of an audience I get shortness of breath and I almost cannot talk. I had a church reading for my nephew's wedding and I didn't want to make a fool of myself.

After following your lessons and advice, I was a very big success. I came fully prepared and familiar with my reading. I read slowly and looked up occasionally as you suggested. I received many compliments and my cousin even said I looked liked a professional.
