Understanding Mental Health

(updated 17 March 2023)

Mental health includes emotional and psychological health. Ailments are often caused by toxic or destructive mental input from others, from your environment, or from yourself. Staying mentally and emotionally healthy means that you are protecting yourself from these causes of psychological disease.

Healing, repair and behavior management are necessary efforts in restoring mental health, once there is a problem. Effectively dealing with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and healthcare professionals are also important in recovery.

The purpose of these lessons is to encourage you to overcome the challenges and to give you a start at improving your mental health, as well as the health of your loved ones. It is also useful for those studying a career in counseling and mental therapy.
