School for Champions is an educational website offering thousands of clear, original lessons across science, mathematics, personal development, communication, health, and professional skills. Our core lessons are open to read. Our aim is simple: to help you understand a subject well enough to use it, and to become a “champion” in your studies, your work, and your life.
Our mission
The site was built on the belief that learning should be practical, encouraging, and available to everyone. Its lessons follow a philosophy centered on what the school calls the 5 Powers of a Champion — health, knowledge, value, excellence, and character — and on the idea that as you grow, you also help others grow by championing worthy causes. Whether you are a student trying to raise a grade, a professional building a new skill, or simply curious, the goal is to give you a solid, usable understanding of the subject.
Our story
School for Champions was founded in 2000 by Ron Kurtus, an educator, writer, and technologist who created the site and wrote most of its lessons over more than two decades. His background — teaching college algebra, physical science, and physics, quality management on a major U.S. defense program, and running a training and technical-writing company — shaped the site’s clear, practical, build-from-the-basics style.
