Electro-Optics Credentials

His next stop was working on the technical staff at the Santa Barbara Research Center, developing electro-optics for weather satellites and the Mariner Mars mission. He then worked at the Hughes Aircraft Co. Electro-Optical Data Systems Group in El Segundo, California, where he did design and testing of the optical systems for the TOW anti-tank missile, cruise missile, and LANTRIN missile.

Finally, Ron worked on the United States’ Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) program for the U.S. Air Force at their Space Systems Division as a civilian with the equivalent rank of Major. He first worked as a Project Manager on the SDI Space Based Interceptor and later became the Total Quality Manager for all the Air Force’s SDI programs.

Material he has written has also been cited in 151 published books, including Physics textbooks and a book published by NASA.
