Finances in starting a business

Topic: General

January 24, 2020

I'm one of the Outreach Coordinators for I happened to come across your site while browsing through a few business resources. You have some wonderful information and resources listed.

Our organization strives to provide small businesses and entrepreneurs with information that relates to their financial well-being. We have constructed a comprehensive section that covers topics such as becoming an entrepreneur, building a business plan, anticipating startup costs, the requirements of owning a business and more.

I was wondering if you would be interested in listing our organization on your resources page.

Thank you for your time,

Jean - USA

I need full details on how to start my own business.

Abdulrasheed - Nigeria

First of all, you need to define what sort of business you want to start. Do you want to sell a product or a service?

It is always good to start small before seeking investors in your business. Also, it is good to get others interested in your ideas.

Go through the lessons in

and also check many of the resource websites at:

Hi Ron,

I just found your website! In particular, I enjoyed browsing through your Entrepreneurship resources.

It's great that there is also some information about starting an online store. Do you think it would be helpful to also include other ecommerce providers than just Shopify? We have a ranking table of various providers on our site. If you believe that this could be useful to your readers feel free to add it to the list.

Best of luck with your project!

Kind regards,

Robert - USA

Thanks for the suggested resource. I added it to Entrepreneurship Resources and ECommerce Resources.

Hi Ron,

I hope it's ok that I'm contacting you about this! I'm working on putting together a program for high school students who are interested in entrepreneurship, branding, marketing, etc. which is actually how I just found the Entrepreneur Resources page on the School for Champions site.

After looking through your information (which was very helpful), I wanted to send a resource that I thought was pretty can see it here: Small Business Resource Center ( I thought it would make a good addition to the other resources on your page for any of your site visitors looking for this kind of info.

Anyway, I'd like to hear what you think and if you are able to add it to your site that would be very cool, please let me know! Just looking to contribute if possible and I'd love to show the kids :)

Thanks again!

Emily - USA

Thanks for the suggested resource. I added it to the Entrepreneur Resources and Business Resources pages.

Factors in finding demand for a business

Topic: Factors in Deciding to Start Your Own Business

October 25, 2014

what are the factors that decide the demand of a business? for example lets say wedding planner. considering the needs of goods and service and the price of goods and services

tatenda - UK

Being a wedding planner is essentially going into business for yourself. The first thing to do is to check the competition to see how many are in your area. This gives an idea of the demand for the service.

Also, you can get some estimates on what they would change for setting up a wedding.

In starting up a business, it is always a good idea to get some hands-on experience. You can ask if they need some temporary help. Of course, if you tell that you want to start a competing business, they may not cooperate.

Being able to add something special or unique to an event can make it more appealing than the ordinary businesses.

I hope these ideas help. Best wishes for success in starting up your business.

My name is Angela. I am currently working in after school program that helps mentor young entrepreneurs. The ones in my group are putting together a presentation and have been doing research for different references to include. We came across your page and found it to be a big help, thank you so much!

They also found this great small business planning guide on ( that has been really helpful to them as well and we wanted to share it with you.

Would you mind adding a link to it?

I think it would fit great with your other resources and I'd love to show the group that they helped contribute to another site with their findings!

Please keep me posted if you decide to add it!

Thanks again and best wishes!

Angela - USA

Thanks for the suggested resource. I added the link at Entrepreneur Resources.

Also, I plan to add a material on creating business plans in this section.

Best wishes for success in your program.

Can you please list for me some factors that can make a person start his/her business

Londiwe - USA

First of all, you need to have a good idea of a product or service that people would want to purchase. Ideally, it should be something you feel strong about.

If you feel that people wold really want your product and see the potential of your business, it should get you motivated to start your business.

You need to find out how to reach people that would be interested in your product. Where do they go to buy things? What do they read? How can you let them know?

Then, you need to figure out how much money you need to get started. How much does it cost to start making or getting your products?

Often people start off on a very small scale, just to test how much people actually want their product.

Then you can get started.

my son is 23 and will like to start his new business

marisol - USA

It is important that your son has a good idea for a business that will provide something that people or companies want to buy. It is best to be enthusiastic about the product than to want to start a business simply to make money.

Often people who have a business sense will buy a franchise business to run.

Every business needs some initial funding to get it off the ground. Your some will also need to be able to perform most tasks himself to get the business off the ground.

Have him look over our lessons to give him a start in formulating ideas about starting his business.

Best wishes on his success.
