by Ron Kurtus (updated 30 May 2023)

Take this Mini-Quiz to check your understanding of the lesson material.

1. For what is an AC transformer used?

To change AC voltage

To change AC to DC

To change AC frequency

2. What is the formula for the output voltage of a transformer?

VoNo = ViNi

Vo = Ni(No/Vi)

Vo = Vi(No/Ni)

3. Why does an adapter get warm?

Unused AC energy from going to DC is expended as heat

Heat is needed for it to work properly

DC is warmer than AC

If you got all three correct, you are on your way to becoming a Champion in Physics. If you had problems, you had better look over the material again.
